Molinare did the compositing, visual effects, grading and online for Grow Your Own. It was an exciting challenge to work on one of the first featured films to be shot on the ARRI D20. Justin Lanchbury, our DI film consultant, remarks that the D20 is ‘a beautiful camera, and with the tremendous on set support from ARRI , fantastic results were achieved.’ Justin went on to say that the D20 enabled ‘colour depth, great shadow and highlight details and skin tones look good too.’

Tim Waller, who was the senior colourist used the Baselight. ‘It was important that the majority of the sheds on the allotment were all of a uniform colour in this film for the purposes of the plot. Using the technology of Baselight made this really simple. By keying in the sheds it was easy to attain great results quickly.’ Tim enjoyed working with Laxton and shared his vision of a ‘bright and cheerful green oasis in an otherwise grey and industrial city landscape’ which his grade indisputably achieved.

News: ‘Witty, original and totally mesmerizing. A wonderful story, cleverly written, beautifully performed. Cottrell Boyce is a master of the written word. Together with Director Laxton they bring a fantastic array of characters to life beautifully. Love, war and allotments – fantastic.’
